May Chakrubscopes and Strengthening the Mind-Body Signal

The first day of May marks the midpoint between the spring equinox and the summer solstice, a pagan holiday known as Beltane. It represents fertility and abundance, when earth energies are thought to be strongest. Beltane traditions use fire to honor the sun and all that it provides. As we venture into this new month, consider how you are tending to your inner flame.

The sun will be waltzing through the sensual earth sign of Taurus for most of the month, presenting us with a collective opportunity to listen more intently to the body. Taurus gets a reputation for being stubborn and high maintenance, but when we look deeper into these qualities, what we really see is a commitment to honoring one’s unique and evolving needs. This fixed sign would rather hold an unpopular opinion than waver on their ideals. They would sooner arrive late or not at all than sacrifice the routine that helps them feel balanced and self-assured.

On May 5, a new moon in Taurus invites rituals and intentions that restore the connection between body and mind, allowing us to transit messages more clearly. Venus will shift into its home sign of Taurus on May 15, encouraging us to explore and honor what feels pleasurable in our bodies. If ever we become too focused on reaching the finish line, Venus in Taurus gives us permission to stop and smell the roses, reminding us that slow and steady wins the race.

A full moon in Scorpio arrives on May 18, drawing our attention below the surface. Another fixed sign, Scorpio can be relentless in their pursuit of the unknown. This is a good time to get real with yourself about the ingrained beliefs and behaviors that are holding you back.

The sun moves into the flirty air sign of Gemini on May 21, turning our attention back to the mind and encouraging us to find inspiration in daydreams and distractions.

Readings are written by Danielle Dorsey using the Sacred Symbol Oracle Deck created by artist Marcella Kroll. You are encouraged to meditate on the symbols of the cards to receive additional intuitive guidance. Another way to work with this wisdom is to reflect on how you relate to the word(s) associated with your oracle card. Take note of your initial response and then look up the term(s) in a dictionary to go deeper into its medicine. Please read your sun, rising, and moon signs if you know them.
